Fashion Forum

Last night was spent at Bar Babylon, where my friend Siw from school organises a monthly event called Fashion Forum. It's basically a gathering of people within the fashion industry (and beyond) where some contemporary designer/photographer/artist etc present their work, and people can ask questions afterwards, and generally build a network in the industry and get to know other creatives.

Oda Berby, whose photos I've been blogging about previously, did a presentation of her trip to India earlier this year and the fashion shoot "Metamorphosis" that came out of it. Amazing photos.... Also, a textile designer/artist called Franz Schmidt told the story behind an exhibition he has had in Oslo earlier this year and currently has in Mandal in Southern Norway. He was working at a very old little textile factory in the middle of nowhere for two years, basically creating textile from scratch. He then cooperated with a designer to make clothes.
